Delta Air Lines Inc (NYSE: DAL) has reportedly said that, from spring 2009, flight attendants employed by Northwest Airlines Corp (NYSE: NWA) will be asked to wear Delta Air Lines uniforms.
Delta announced in April that it planned to merge with Northwest in an all-stock transaction to create a new company that will be named Delta and headquartered in Atlanta. The merger is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.
According to The Associated Press, a joint memo to flight attendants at both airlines this week stated that Northwest flight attendants will be invited to 'style clinics' in the coming days to try on Delta uniforms.
The current Delta uniforms debuted in 2006 and were designed by Richard Tyler, who claimed when hired to do the makeover in 2004 that he wanted the uniform to "look sexy and great" while keeping a "classic look".
