Passengers booked on flights with Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) to or from areas likely to be affected by the severe weather from Hurricane Gustav may make changes to their travel schedules without penalty or fees.

The announcement by the airline on 27 August means that customers on Delta, Delta Connection or Delta-coded flights who purchased a ticket by 26 August and who are scheduled to travel to or from the Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman or Jamaica from 26 August to 1 September may make a one-time change to their plans without incurring any penalties or fees, providing the changes are made by 1 September.

Changes to origin or destination may result in a fare increase and any fare difference between the original ticket and the new ticket will be collected at the time of re-booking. Customers who have flights cancelled owing to the hurricane will have their fares refunded. Delta is advising customers to check the airline's website for the latest flight information and details of any flights affected by the hurricane.
