Singapore Airlines announces plans for introduction of new A330s

Singapore Airlines revealed on Tuesday (30 December) that its new Airbus A330-300 regional aircraft will be launched into commercial service on routes to cities in Australia and Japan.

The first of 19 new A330-300s ordered by Singapore Airlines will be delivered from Airbus in mid-January. It will be used to complete pilot training before initially being flown on regional services to Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta during late February and March.

The new aircraft will then make its full entry into commercial service on 30 March 2009, flying between Singapore and Brisbane. After that, flights to other Australian and Japanese cities will progressively switch to the new aircraft.
