Gulf Air looking to increase flights to India - claim

Gulf Air has revealed that it would like to increase its flights to India to total in excess of 100 per week.

The airline, which is owned by the Bahrainian state, had its number of weekly flights to India increased to 65 from 56 by the country on Wednesday (30 January).

According to Reuters, a Bahraini official involved in the negotiations said that Bahrain wanted more flights approved.

In addition Gulf Air chief executive Bjorn Naf stated: "We were actually looking for doubling the capacity that we have today".
