JetBlue Airways (NasdaqGS:JBLU) has announced that it is to offer a new low-fare service at Los Angeles International Airport, as well as new intrawest routes from other Southern California regional airports to Austin, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Jose and Seattle, all effective this May.
The airline is to offer new nonstop services from Los Angeles to New York and Boston, as well as a nonstop service from Burbank to Washington, D.C. Five new western routes linking Burbank to Las Vegas; Long Beach to Austin, San Jose, and Seattle; and San Diego to Seattle, are also to be launched by the carrier.
JetBlue said that its expansion in California will also mark the debut of the airline's new EMBRAER 190 aircraft on the West Coast. The jet will fly selected new routes from its focus city at Long Beach Airport.
