New president of Advanced R&D unit named by Boeing

Aircraft manufacturer Boeing (NYSE:BA) has announced that it has appointed Matthew Ganz as president of the company's Phantom Works advanced research and development unit, effective 22 February.

Prior to joining the company Ganz was at HRL Laboratories in Malibu, California, where he was president, chief executive officer and general manager.

In his new role Ganz will report to John Tracy, Boeing chief technology officer and senior vice president of Engineering, Operations & Technology.

Ganz replaces Bob Krieger, who retired from the company on 31 December 2007.
