AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

A new reciprocal frequent flyer agreement has been announced between American Airlines (NYSE: AMR) and Jet Airways (India) Limited, which is effective immediately.

Under the terms of the agreement, members of American's AAdvantage programme can accrue and redeem miles when travelling on any eligible Jet Airways flights, whilst members of the JetPrivilege programme can accrue and redeem miles on any eligible American Airlines, American Eagle and AmericanConnection flights.

The airlines also said that, last week, they began a previously announced codesharing agreement under which American placed its AA designator code on Jet Airways flights to certain cities in India beyond the Jet Airways Delhi hub and Jet Airways placed its 9W designator code on certain American Airlines domestic flights out of New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport.

In addition the carriers will also codeshare and cooperate on traffic between the US and India that connects at Brussels Airport.
