Kansas City closed due to heavy snow

Kansas City International Airport was closed on Sunday (17 February) due to heavy snow in the region.

The airport was closed for nearly six hours in total, with a number of flights being cancelled.

According to The Associated Press, the runways were closed at approximately 06:30, when friction testing revealed that conditions were too slick to operate aircraft safely.
