Emergency landing made in Tokyo by Northwest flight

An emergency landing was made on Tuesday (26 February) at Tokyo's Narita International Airport by an aircraft operated by Northwest Airlines, when a burning smell was picked up inside the cabin by crew members.

The aircraft, a 747-400, was travelling to Manila and was carrying 403 passengers and crew.

According to The Associated Press, investigators who boarded the aircraft found no trace of fire or smoke.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
