Operational performance for January 2008 announced by Continental Airlines

Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) has announced its operational figures for the month of January 2008.

The airline reported a consolidated (mainline plus regional) load factor of 76.8% for the month, 0.5 points above the January 2007 consolidated load factor.

The carrier also reported a mainline load factor of 77.4%, an increase of 0.6 points as compared to the January 2007 mainline load factor, and a domestic mainline load factor of 79.6%, 1.5 points above January 2007. In addition the airline also reported an international mainline load factor of 75.1%, 0.2 points less than January 2007.

An on-time arrival rate of 74.7% and a mainline segment completion factor of 99.3% were also announced for January 2008.

The airline said that during the month it flew 7.2 billion consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 9.4 billion consolidated available seat miles (ASMs), resulting in a traffic increase of 2.9% and a capacity increase of 2.1% as compared to January 2007.
