Ryanair predicts lower profits for 2008 - report

Ireland based economy carrier Ryanair has stated that it may experience lower profits in 2008.

The statement was issued by the airline in light of increasing fuel costs and a weaker sterling.

The carrier reported a 27% decrease in its net profit for the quarter from October - December 2007 to EUR35m.

According to the BBC, the airline's chief executive, Michael O'Leary, has warned that earnings for 2008 could fall by up to 50% to EUR235m.
