AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

An 'in principle' Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) has been reached between Australia based carrier Qantas and the Australian Licensed Aircraft Engineers Association (ALAEA).

The airline said that the new four-year agreement covers nearly 1,600 Qantas Engineering employees and will be the subject of a formal vote.

The new agreement includes: an annual wage increase of 3%, backdated to January 2007; an increase in company superannuation contributions in accumulation funds to no less than 10%; and changes to the number and spread of part-time and casual employees and the lifting of restrictions on the use of fixed term contract employment.
