Employee incentive payments triggered by US Airways' December on-time performance

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
US Airways (NYSE: LCC) has announced that its on-time performance for December 2007 resulted in a USD1.8m payment being made to the airline's 36,000 employees.
As a result each employee at the carrier will receive a USD50 bonus.
The airline said that, according to the US DOT's December Air Traveler Consumer Report, US Airways' arrival rate of 74.5% placed the airline in the number one spot in on-time performance among the 10 largest US carriers.
