January load factors announced by Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has reported its load factors for the month of January 2008.

The airline said that the load factors for international traffic were 76.3%, Latin 82.3%, domestic 74.9% and system 75.4%, all of which were higher than January 2007.

In addition system traffic increased 2.5% from January 2007 on flat capacity and international traffic increased 11.1% year over year on an 8.7% increase in capacity. The carrier said that January's domestic traffic fell by 1.4% year over year on a capacity decrease of 3.6%.

Delta operated its schedule during January 2008 at a 97.2% completion rate compared to 98.6% in January 2007. The airline also boarded 8.1 million passengers during the month of January 2008, a decrease of 0.5 points year over year.
