Edelweiss Air to be acquired by Swiss International Air Lines

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Edelweiss Air is to be acquired by Deutsche Lufthansa AG's Swiss International Air Lines Ltd division from Swiss travel company Kuoni Reisen Holding AG.
Under the terms of the agreement Kuoni will, from January, offer hotel reservations on Swiss International's website.
Swiss said that services at Edelweiss will be incorporated into its winter timetable and the carrier will retain its management and branding following the takeover, Bloomberg reported.
Financial terms of the agreement, which is subject regulatory approval, were not disclosed.
