Iris biometric control portal to be deployed by Manchester Airport

An iris biometric control portal for the regulation of staff access is to be implemented by Manchester Airport in the UK.

The technology is being deployed in co-operation with the Department for Transport and Human Recognition Systems (HRS).

According to vnunet.com, the new system will enable airport staff to access restricted zones via a double door system regulated by iris recognition cameras.
