A severed fibre optic connection led to passengers being stranded at Hobart International Airport in Australia due to damage caused to the computer system operated by Virgin Blue.
A Telstra fibre optic cable was reportedly cut, meaning that the carrier was forced to check passengers in manually.
According to ABC News, Australia, a spokeswoman for Virgin has confirmed that the carrier's computer system has now been restored and only one flight to Melbourne was cancelled as a result of the incident.
