Skyways selects GuestLogix Technology for in-flight retail service

An agreement has been announced between the Skyways Group and Canadian company GuestLogix for the provision of GuestLogix's Mobile Virtual Store on-board technology.

The technology to be provided by GuestLogix includes wireless POS devices and application services to assist Skyways' attendants with on-board sales transactions and enhance the carrier's in-flight service.

The deal was reportedly finalised in co-operation with Klarago AB, a Swedish airline caterer and wholly owned subsidiary of the Compass Group Plc (LSE:CPG.L).

The carrier said that the new technology will be fully deployed across its aircraft by the end of this month to allow a full buy-on-board service.

The GuestLogix solution will allows Skyways to offer food, beverages and gifts and accept cash in multiple currencies or credit card payments.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
