New chairman of China Airlines appointed

Taiwan-based China Airlines has appointed a new chairman.

Philip Hsing-Hsiung Wei was appointed chairman after a vote by the board of directors. The directors of the board were also re-elected.

Wei worked at China Airlines for more than 30 years. He was president of the airline from March 2002 to November 2005, and was then chairman from November 2005 to October 2007. He has recently worked as a professor at Chang jung Christian University.
