Canadian aircraft maker Bombardier Aerospace has appointed Frederick W. Reid as the new president of Flexjet and Skyjet U.S.

The appointment is effective from 25 August 2008.

Reid has held senior executive positions with a number of airlines during his 20-year career in the airline industry. Most recently he has served as chief executive officer of new airline Virgin America, and before that he was president and chief operating officer of Delta Air Lines.

Reid takes over from Michael McQuay, who has continued to lead Flexjet and Skyjet U.S. while accepting additional responsibilities as president of Aircraft Service Centres more than a year ago, Bombardier said.
