Air Canada releases June traffic figures

Air Canada has reported June traffic figures for both its mainline carrier and Jazz, from which Air Canada purchases regional capacity.

The mainline carrier saw a growth of 2.8% in revenue passenger miles and an increase of 3.3% in available seat miles in June 2008, compared with the same period last year, resulting in a load factor of 83.1%, a decrease of 0.3 percentage points.

Revenue passenger miles for Jazz showed a decrease of 7.9% and a capacity decrease of 3.6% year-on-year. Load factor dropped by 3.4 percentage points to 73.2% during June 2008, compared with 76.6% in June 2007.

The consolidated revenue passenger miles for Air Canada and Jazz rose by 1.9%, while available seat miles increased by 2.7% resulting in a year-on-year decrease in load factor of 0.6 percentage points.
