Tentative agreement on new contract for Delta and Northwest pilots

Airline Industry Information,  June 25, 2008

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Negotiators for the pilots of Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) and Northwest Airlines (NYSE:NWA) have reached a tentative agreement on a joint contract.

The new contract will take effect upon completion of the planned merger of the two airlines, which is expected later this year.

Both pilot groups are represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA). The tentative agreement will now be presented to each group's Master Executive Council before the pilots are asked to vote on it.

No details of the contract have been released.

Delta also said that the pilot groups have established a separate process designed to establish a single pilot seniority list by the close of the merger.
