BA strike talks fail - claim
Airline Industry Information, March 10, 2008
AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Talks between UK based carrier British Airways and the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) attempting to avert possible strike action by the union have broken down.
Pilots at BA had previously voted in favour of strike action after claims that the launch of new BA subsidiary OpenSkies could mean pay and conditions at BA would be challenged, due to the lower operating costs of OpenSkies.
According to United Press International, pilots at British Airways would have to give a week's notice before taking industrial action.
