An agreement for the purchase of 10 additional Airbus A330-300 aircraft has been announced by Malaysian economy carrier AirAsia X.

The aircraft, which will be delivered over the next five years, are reportedly valued at USD2.1bn, at list prices. The carrier had previously signed an order for 15 A330-300s.

According to news agency AFP, the carrier said that its plans to launch flights to the UK in the fourth quarter this year were now 'subject to aircraft availability'.
