A new carrier based in Brazil is to be formed by David Neeleman, the founder of JetBlue Airways.
Neeleman stated that the new carrier, which is as yet unnamed, will commence operations in 2009 with three mid-size E-195 aircraft manufactured by Brazil's Empresa Brasileira de Aeronatica SA.
According to The Associated Press, the new airline will not have any connection with JetBlue, although some of the carrier's former executives are to join the venture. Neeleman will continue to serve in his role as chairman of JetBlue.
