New award for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism announced by Qantas

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Australian carrier Qantas has announced that it is to establish an award for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism.
The airline said that the award will recognise and encourage Australian tourism operators that minimised their impact on the local environment, respected local culture and provided benefits to local communities.
Qantas will reportedly be offering a 'substantial prize' and will be announcing further details later this year.
The winner of the inaugural Qantas Award for Excellence in Sustainable Tourism will be announced in February 2009.
