KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced that it has introduced a CO2 compensation service, CO2ZERO.
The airline said that this initiative aims to facilitate KLM customers to compensate for their individual flight-related CO2 emissions using the service, which is integrated in the booking and on-line check-in process.
The investments made by customers will be 100% reinvested in Gold Standard compensation projects focusing on renewable energy throughout the world, KLM said. Gold Standard projects are fully supported by the World Wide Fund for Nature in The Netherlands.
