Hawaiian Airlines' parent company reports increased loss for Q1

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Hawaiian Holdings Inc (Amex: HA), which owns Hawaiian Airlines, has reported an improvement in revenues but an increased loss for the first quarter of 2008.
The company recorded a 16.7% growth in operating revenue to USD251.2m, while the consolidated net loss for the three months ended 31 March 2008 amounted to USD19.9m or USD0.42 per basic and diluted share. In last year's first quarter the net loss amounted to USD11.9m, or USD0.25 per basic and diluted share.
Mark Dunkerley, the company's president and chief executive officer, said that the first quarter results were affected by record fuel prices and excess capacity.
