Family leaves child behind at Vancouver airport

An 18-month-old child was left behind at Vancouver airport in Canada after his family boarded an Air Canada flight to Winnipeg.
The boy was reportedly discovered between the security clearance area and the departure gate on Monday morning (12 May) by a security guard.
The toddler's parents and grandparents had forgotten the child after clearing security at the airport.
According to the Vancouver Sun, the boy's family were seated in different sections of the flight and each thought the child was with another family member.

No boarding pass had been issued to the boy, due to his age, so the airline was unaware that their was a passenger absent from the flight.
