Government approval for the provision of service to Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) is being sought by Virgin America.
The carrier said that, later this week, it plans to file an application with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to serve ORD under the existing demand management rules at the airport.
If successful, the airline will offer routes to ORD in late 2008 from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
