Boeing demonstrates RNP at China's Lijiang Airport

US aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) has demonstrated Required Navigation Performance (RNP) at Lijiang Airport in China.
RNP is an advanced method of navigation which uses global-positioning satellites and onboard flight-management systems to guide aircraft along precise flight paths. The technology helps to provide safe and efficient aircraft operation in challenging terrain and weather conditions.
The capability and benefits of RNP were demonstrated at Lijiang Airport on Tuesday (13 May) with a China Eastern Airlines Boeing Next-Generation 737-700 aircraft.

The RNP arrival and departure procedures for Lijiang were designed by Jeppesen, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boeing.
