Qantas introduce Premium Economy class on flights to Los Angeles

On Friday (23 May) Australian airline Qantas announced that on selected services from Sydney to Los Angeles and Melbourne to Los Angeles it will be offering its Premium Economy class.
Premium Economy travel will begin on flights from Sydney on 14 November, starting from AUD3,999, and on Melbourne flights commencing 19 December from AUD4,080, return fares, including taxes, levies and charges.
The inclusion of this class of travel on flights to Los Angeles follows on from its introduction on services to Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Johannesburg and London.
Qantas Premium Economy class offers: a nine inch seat recline and up to 42 inch seat pitch; extra wide 19.5 inch seats; an in-arm touch screen video monitor; a menu inspired by Neil Perry with premium wines; and pre-take off refreshments - Champagne, orange juice and water.
Mr Borghetti said Premium Economy would be added on Qantas services to Buenos Aires, New York and San Francisco during 2009.
The airline currently operates six Boeing B747-400 aircraft offering Premium Economy, with 18 expected to be in operation by the end of the year, including routes to Buenos Aires, New York and San Francisco during 2009. All Qantas Airbus A380s will also include a Premium Economy cabin.
