New rise in fuel surcharges announced by NWA Cargo

NWA Cargo, the cargo unit of Northwest Airlines (NYSE:NWA), has said that it will increase its fuel surcharges in certain markets with effect from 1 June 2008.
The price rise is subject to government approvals, where required.
Northwest said that international fuel surcharges, excluding traffic originating in Japan, will be increased from USD1.10 to USD1.20 per kilogram. Meanwhile westbound transpacific shipments from the United States to Shanghai, Guangzhou and points beyond will now be subject to a USD0.40 per kilogram fuel surcharge above current all-in base rates.
Domestic US fuel surcharges will be raised from USD0.42 per pound to USD0.44 per pound.
In addition the security surcharge will be increased from USD0.045 to USD0.06 per pound.
