ExcelAire, a private jet charter firm, has received clearance to operate services from Long Island to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
The carrier's new private jet terminal at Long Island's Islip Macarthur Airport has been approved by the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as a departure point for travel to the Washington airport.
Heightened security measures are in place for flights into Reagan Airport and aircraft are permitted to arrive from only 21 gateway airports and approved private jet operators. ExcelAire said that it passed rigorous security checks made by the TSA and implemented special security procedures for services to the airport.
ExcelAire has been flying charter jets into Reagan Airport for more than two years, and will now be able to offer access via its private jet terminal and private jet charter services.
