NWA Cargo raises fuel surcharges

NWA Cargo, the cargo unit of Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA), has said that it will increase its fuel surcharge in certain markets with effect from 15 May 2008.
The increase is subject to government approvals, where required.
Northwest said that international fuel surcharges will be increased from USD1.05 to USD1.10 per kilogram. Meanwhile westbound transpacific shipments from the United States to Shanghai, Guangzhou and points beyond will now be subject to a USD0.30 per kilogram fuel surcharge above current all-in base rates.
