IOSA certification announced by Transaero

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Russia based carrier Transaero Airlines has announced that it has now been entered on the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit register.

The carrier successfully underwent the IOSA audit carried out by Wake QA Ltd in 2007.

In addition the airline also revealed that during the first quarter of 2008 its passenger traffic reached more than 3.83 million passenger-kilometres, showing an increase of 43% over the first quarter of the prior year.

Passenger volume for the period was 791,000 passengers, a 44% increase on the same period in 2007, whilst cargo traffic was 367,000 ton - kilometres, 43% more than in the first quarter last year.
