Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang airports are still not operating as anti-government protestors continue to occupy them.

Suvarnabhumi was taken over on 26 November by demonstrators from the group People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD). The protestors have stated that they will not leave the airports until Thai prime minister Somchai Wongsawat resigns from his position.

Somchai declared a state of emergency at the two airports on 27 November, giving police the power to clear demonstrations and public gatherings with more than five people.

PAD protestors have barricaded themselves into the airports using items such as car tyres and luggage trolleys, Reuters reported.

Many travellers are stranded in Thailand, unable to fly home due to the closure of the airports.
