UATP offers travel payment option

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Universal Air Travel Plan Inc (UATP), a privately owned payment network, has announced that it is offering a travel payment option which mitigates the high cost of corporate credit cards and provides revenue streams for issuers along with a low merchant service fee.

UATP's low cost corporate charge card accounts are accepted as payment for corporate business travel by airlines and travel agencies and are issued by: Aer Lingus; Air New Zealand; American Airlines (NYSE: AMR); Austrian Airlines; Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL); Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL); Japan Airlines (Nasdaq: JALSY); Northwest Airlines (NYSE: NWA); Qantas Airways Ltd; United Airlines (Nasdaq: UAUA); and US Airways (NYSE: LCC).

AirPlus International issues the UATP based company account for British Airways (NYSE: BAB), Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) and Lufthansa German Airlines.

The benefits for merchants are: low merchant service fees; new revenue streams via additional flown revenue for corporations; centralised billing for improved cost control; Level III Data; no international or currency conversion fees; and no membership or annual fees.

The company also offers facilitation for alternative forms of payment with current partners PayPal, Moneta, BillMeLater, Acculynk, HomeATM and gift card partner Stored Value Systems.
