Law firms file Petition of Discovery and claim against FAA

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Two American law firms, Nolan Law Group and Ribbeck Law Chartered, have reported that they have filed a Petition for Discovery in the state court in Chicago.

The petition concerns the crash of an Aeroflot-Nord Airlines Boeing 737-500 in Perm, Russia on 14 September 2008.

The law firms filed the petition of behalf of Aleksey A. Afanasenkov Senior, whose son died in the crash. The petition seeks documentation and information relating to individuals and companies that may have responsibility for the crash.

In addition, a formal claim was filed by the law firms on behalf of Afanasenkov against the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its alleged failure to properly regulate the US training institutions that provided training to the crew of the aircraft that crashed.

All 88 people on board were killed when the Aeroflot-Nord aircraft crashed in Perm as it was preparing to land.
