Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) has announced the resignation of Edward M. Liddy from its board.
Last month Liddy was named chairman and chief executive officer of American International Group (AIG).
The company said that Liddy had offered his resignation, which is effectively immediately, based upon his concerns that he would no longer qualify as an independent director on the Boeing board under NYSE director independence standards.
The board reportedly shared Liddy's view and accepted his resignation.
Liddy joined Boeing's board in August 2007 and served on the compensation and governance, organisation and nominating committees.
