Mexican airport operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB de CV (GAP) (NYSE: PAC) (BMV: GAP) has announced that the Mexican Ministry of Communications and Transportation has not renewed Avolar Aerolineas' concession to provide passenger, cargo and mail services in the national air space.

This is a result of the airline not being able to comply with necessary safety, service, coverage and quality guidelines.

Avolar operates at three of GAP's 12 airports: Tijuana, Guadalajara and Morelia. The airline reduced its operations in these airports from 891 scheduled departures in September 2007 to 162 in September 2008. As a result, GAP stated that it does not expect the suspension of Avolar's operations to affect its results for the rest of 2008.
