Manufacturer and designer of aircraft engines Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), a business unit of United Technologies Corp (NYSE:UTX), announced on Monday (6 October) that the company has signed a global distribution agreement with Aviall Services Inc, a distributor of aviation products to aircraft operators, commercial airlines and general aviation and marine customers and a subsidiary of The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA).
Under the agreement Aviall will supply new P&WC Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) spare parts to JT15D engine clients around the world.
The company said that this global distribution agreement with Aviall would allow it to leverage its broad distribution network to continue to support its clients. The agreement is also expected to allow P&WC to more effectively manage its inventory and supply chain across its entire service centre network.
Aviall is expected to begin providing JT15D spare parts to P&WC customers around the world in the first quarter of 2009.
Financial details of the agreement were not available.
