AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Australian airline Qantas has reported that it will be reducing its fuel surcharges on international flights.

The reductions are a result of recent falls in oil and jet fuel prices, Qantas stated.

These changes include surcharges on flights to the UK and Europe being dropped from AUD210 to AUD190; the surcharge on flights to Asia, the Pacific and Honolulu being reduced from AUD120 to AUD110; and the surcharge on flights to New Zealand decreasing from AUD70 to AUD65.

The lower surcharges will apply to bookings made on or after 9 October 2008.

According to Qantas the decrease in fuel surcharges will be accompanied by reductions in domestic fares.
