Opcon AB wins contract to develop new screw compressor for cooling system on Airbus A380

Swedish energy and environmental technology company Opcon AB (OMX Stockholm:OPCO) announced on Wednesday (8 October) that its development subsidiary, Svenska Rotor Maskiner (SRM), has landed a prestigious development assignment from Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, part of the Swiss group Liebherr.

The assignment covers development of a new screw compressor for the second generation of supplemental cooling system of the Airbus A380 passenger aircraft.

"This is a project that suits the structure we are establishing for our Renewable Energy business area with development, advanced, high-value production in small series and service. In addition to the value of the large development order we look at a future possibility of a yearly production of several millions SEK for decades to come," said Rolf Hasselstrom, president and CEO of Opcon.

Opcon, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, develops, produces and markets systems and products for eco-friendly, efficient and resource-effective use of energy.
