Dubai-based leasing company orders Blended Winglets

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

DAE Capital, the aircraft leasing and financial business arm of Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has ordered 50 shipsets of Blended Winglets from Aviation Partners Boeing.

The winglets will be installed on DAE Capital's new Boeing 737-700/800 Next Generation aircraft which are scheduled for delivery starting in 2010.

The technology is designed to make aircraft more aerodynamically efficient and reduce fuel consumption.

Financial terms of the contract were not revealed.
