CAA ends repatriation flights for XL customers

The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced that the last repatriation charter flights for passengers affected by the collapse of the XL Leisure Group have now returned to the UK.
There will be no further chartered repatriation flights operated.
The CAA stated that it is now focussing on dealing with claims for refunds from XL Holidays customers with ATOL-protected pre-booked holidays.
There are a small number of customers who were ATOL-protected still abroad on extended holidays.
According to the CAA, since the XL Leisure Group collapsed on 12 September 2008 it has operated 222 flights from 40 destinations, which have returned 83,000 holiday makers.
