American Airlines reports traffic results for December

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2009 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
American Airlines, a subsidiary of AMR Corp (NYSE: AMR), has released its traffic results for December 2008.
Revenue passenger miles for the month showed a decrease of 8.2% compared to December 2007, while available seat miles fell by 8.6%, resulting in an increase in the load factor of 0.4 percentage points at 79.2%.
The airline boarded a total of 7.3m passengers in December 2008, a decline of 8.2% compared to the same month a year ago.
