KLM Cityhopper orders seven additional Embraer 190s

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2009 M2 COMMUNICATIONS
Embraer (NYSE:ERJ) said on Monday that KLM's regional subsidiary, KLM Cityhopper, has entered an agreement for another seven Embraer 190 aircraft, confirming the options that were in the original contract which was announced in August 2007.
KLM still has 11 options to purchase Embraer aircraft. The initial deliveries of the new order are scheduled to take place at the start of 2010.
Currently, KLM Cityhopper operates four Embraer 190 aircraft on its regional European services. By the end of 2009 it will have taken delivery of ten Embraer 190 aircraft that will be replacing its oldest 15 Fokker 100 aircraft. All of KLM Cityhopper's Embraer 190s will have 100 seats.
