Airbus reports USD12.9bn of commitments signed at Paris Air Show

European aircraft manufacturer Airbus reported on Friday that it received commitments for 127 aircraft, valued at some USD12.9bn, during this year's Paris Air Show.

This included firm orders for 58 aircraft, worth almost USD6.4bn, as well as Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreements for a further 69 aircraft, worth USD6.5bn.

Among the larger orders signed at the air show, Qatar Airways placed an order for 20 A320s and four A321s valued at USD1.9bn and Vietnam Airlines signed a USD1.4bn firm order for 16 A321s.

In addition Malaysia-based Air Asia X placed a firm order for 10 of the new model A350-900s worth USD2.4bn.

MoUs were signed with Hungarian airline Wizz Air for 50 A320s worth USD3.8bn; India's Paramount Airways for 10 A321s worth USD900m; Turkish Airlines for two A330-200s and five A330-300s worth USD1.4bn; and Vietnam Airlines for two A350-900s worth USD480m.
