Port of Houston sees 'favorable' enviro impact statement for expansion, relies on diesel cleanup programs

Diesel Fuel News, June 9, 2003

A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers report on upcoming Port of Houston expansion notes that new EPA clean-diesel fuels and engine emissions limits will help slash diesel emissions at the Port, along with diesel retrofit programs there. Port of Houston has aggressively installed exhaust catalysts and employed diesel-water emulsions and other clean fuels to cut emissions.

The Port now expects to win approval for the proposed Bayport container and cruise terminal facility because of the Corps' enviro impact statement.
